According to the inscription on the award, DeskWorks received the honor "in recognition of its acceptability in the marketplace and its leadership as a proprietary software product." The award signifies that the software product has achieved lifetime aggregate revenue levels of greater than $1,000,000.
DeskWorks is a full-function, interactive spreadsheet program for IBM AS/400 and System/36 computers. Since its release in 1985, DeskWorks has been installed in over 4,300 locations around the world. DeskWorks is also available in several European languages, as well as English and Korean.
The ICP Million Dollar Awards were established 25 years ago by International Computer Programs, Inc to recognize information technology companies, their people, products, and services by presenting them with awards for their marketplace achievements. According to ICP, "The ICP Million Dollar Award is the only one that is based upon the true test of a product's market acceptance: did anyone buy it?"
